§ 4-36. Disposal of dead animals.

  • (a)

    The county enforcement agent assumes no responsibility for the removal or disposal of dead animals unless the owner or responsible person is identified and requests removal or disposal, and agrees to pay any fees or costs associated with such removal or disposal or in the event that a dead animal poses a nuisance or a health problem. The agent may notify the county health department who under extraordinary circumstances may take action under the county nuisance/abatement ordinance or the health code. In the case of large animals or wildlife who ordinarily are regulated through the state department of agriculture or other agencies referrals will be made directly to those agencies.

    (b)

    An exception is made for dead dogs and cats which are the responsibility of the county enforcement agent to remove or dispose of.
