§ 28-89. Permit required.

  • (a)

    No person shall operate a waste transport vehicle as described in section 28-88 without first obtaining a health permit from the county environmental health division. Application must be submitted to the EH with the applicable fees.

    (b)

    Proper application for a vehicle license must be made to the state department of environmental quality within one week of obtaining a permit from the county environmental health division. A copy of the license must be sent to the county environmental health division after it is received from the state department of environmental quality.

    (c)

    An inspection must be conducted on each vehicle before issuing a county health permit. Applicable fees will apply.

    (d)

    The permit holder shall ensure that the permit number is plainly and durably inscribed in contrasting colors on the side door panels of the vehicle and the rear face of the tank in figures not less than three inches high, and that the numbers are legible at all times.

    (e)

    The permit is not transferable, either from person to person or from vehicle to vehicle.

    (f)

    License and registration information must be photocopied at the time of permit application and maintained in the facility file.

    (g)

    Permit(s) may be suspended and/or revoked in accordance with the provisions of this division.
