§ 24-19. Definitions.

  • The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this article, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:

    Camping and to camp mean a use of an area outdoors for living accommodations and include, but not necessarily be limited to, the erection of a tent or other such shelter, laying down bedding material for the purpose of, or in such a way as to permit it to be used as, a living accommodation, the mooring of a houseboat or other living accommodation on public waters, and the parking of a trailer, camper or other vehicle as a living accommodation. The terms "camping" and "to camp" do not include such activities taking place in designated commercial or public campgrounds or on private property by or with the permission of the owners of the private property so long as the activity complies with county zoning regulations and other applicable ordinances.
