§ 18-80. Standards for utilities.

In addition to requirements of laws, the following standards shall apply:
(1)

All new and replacement water supply and sanitary sewage systems shall be designed to minimize or eliminate infiltration of floodwaters into the system and discharge from systems into floodwaters.

(2)

On-site waste disposal systems shall be located to avoid impairment to them or contamination from them during flooding.

(3)

Waste disposal systems shall not be installed wholly or partially in a regulatory floodway. In addition, sewer treatment plants and public or community septic systems shall not be installed wholly or partially in a designated floodplain or floodprone area.
