§ 10-196. Sewage and refuse disposal.

  • (a)

    Supervision and equipment. Supervision and equipment sufficient to prevent littering of the ground with rubbish, garbage or other refuse shall be provided and maintained. Flytight depositories for such materials shall be provided and conspicuously located. Each and every camp or picnic spot shall be within a distance of not over 200 feet from such a depository. These depositories shall not be permitted to become foul smelling or unsightly or breeding places for flies.

    (b)

    All such material shall be removed from the property in accordance with Arizona Administrative Code title 18, ch. 13, art. 3 in an approved manner (a copy of a disposal contract with a licensed provider shall be provided at the time of application for permit to operate).

    (c)

    Garbage cans shall be thoroughly washed after emptying and shall be maintained free of odors and other objectionable conditions.

    (d)

    All containers for rubbish shall be cleaned as often as necessary to prevent a nuisance.

    (e)

    All refuse containers shall be maintained in good repair.

    (f)

    The method of final sewage or refuse disposal utilized in connection with the operation of any camp or picnic ground shall be such as to create no nuisance.

    (g)

    Sewage systems must be constructed in accordance with state rules (aquifer protection permits) and/or local regulations.

    (h)

    A sufficient number of basins, iron hoppers or sinks shall be provided and each shall be connected with a sewerage system; these are to be used for the disposal of domestic waste waters.
